MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Junior guard Beau Nelson scored 21 points, Cory Speer added 18, and Plainview-Elgin-Millville beat Litchfield 55-39 to win the Class 2A championship on Saturday.

The Bulldogs (27-6) went on a 14-0 run midway through the second half to pull away and win their first state title in six tournament appearances.

Zach Kinny scored 11 points to lead Litchfield (26-5), which previously won titles in 2000, 2002 and 2003.

After leading 24-20 at halftime, the Bulldogs fell behind 31-30 midway through the second half. A 3-pointer by Speer with 10:19 left ignited Plainview’s run and put the Bulldogs ahead for good.

I do think the cartoon was more aucrcate. What REALLY irritates me about the whole photoshop episode (and I can’t stand Katie Couric, so it really chaps my hide to defend her) is that she has been working out a lot and if you see her with skimpier attire on, she’s actually very buff, rather than chunky. Apparently that translates to “too fat” to those running the networks. God forbid someone not look heroine chic.
