Fight At Epic Nightclub Leaves 1 Shot, 1 Stabbed

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A man was shot and another was stabbed after a fight broke out at Epic nightclub early Monday morning.

Police say a 35-year-old man was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center with a gunshot wound around 2 a.m. Monday. A 23-year-old was also taken to the hospital with a stab wound.

The circumstances that led to the fight are still being investigated.

Police believe it was more than one fight that broke out at the nightclub, located on 110 N. Fifth St., but aren’t sure if the fights are connected.

You would think they would shut this dump down

    1. Dale says:

Where else can affluent suburban white young adults go to get their swerve on then?

    2. jackactionhero says:

I prefer the Gay nightclubs myself..Guys in Tank Tops with Yummy Mustaches & leather cop hats..I love what they’re packing.

  2. Spanky says:

I sure hope MN-Care covers this?

    1. The Trend says:

Of course it does- hell you can probably get a drink with food stamps

  3. jackactionhero says:

What is a 35 year old man doing at a hip hop night club at 2am anyway?

    1. bill says:

Selling dope or pimping is probably a good guess

    2. JL says:

LOL what do you think, dork? The same thing a 25-year-old would be doing at a nightclub any night of the week. Geez…I hate how judgmental some people are…people don’t fall off the earth and die after they turn 30, 40 or 50! That aside, it does seem odd that the clubs are getting that wild on Sunday nights.

      1. jackactionhero says:

        Dork? LOL

No, they don’t fall off the earth. They usually have jobs, families and responsibilities though.

And isn’t hanging out at a hip hop club where the 21 year old crowd hangs out, a bit strange? Are you 35 and do you hang out with 21 year olds?

        1. Reality Check says:

I have a couple family members whose” weekends” are considered Sundays and Mondays because of the demand of their jobs. So maybe they want to get out and have a good time on their “weekend”. And it is not all 21 year olds anyway. I have seen people of any age (generally under 50) at clubs that late all the time. Think a little bit more before you type and sound like a complete idiot Jackactionzero.

          1. jackactionhero says:

Really… You see normal people in their 30s and 40s at downtown hip hop clubs?

And you felt the comment was worth namecalling even? Wow.

So going out and having a “good time” on their weekend means hitting a downtown hip hop club for your family? Interesting… See, my family members wouldn’t be going anywhere near a place like that for entertainment. I find it strange that people would.

            1. brad says:

I usually see people in their 30s and 40s at exurban hip hop clubs. Think Farmington, Isanti and Lester Prairie.

            2. Maybe says:

Well Maybe someone should start a +30 only club that actually plays music you can understand and dance to..Some of us single 40 year old’s would like to hang out on occasion. Not all of us have family’s. Some of us are divorced and trying to have a life again. Although, you would never catch me at a club that caters to the youth. Like I said…a club for only +30 and above adults would be nice.

              1. jackactionhero says:

Not a bad idea. I do understand the desire for the 30+ crowd to gather. I just don’t find dance clubs to be a great place for people to talk. Or is it more about getting sweaty and grinding anonymously to thumping bass before doing the one-eye drive home?🙂

              2. just sayin says:

There is one, it’s called a gay bar.

                1. Maybe says:

                  Just Sayin,

Not all of us are Gay, and want to hang out in a gay bar. I’m just simply saying, maybe they should have a night club that is gear towards or aimed at the single 30+ growed. Us 30, 40, and 50 year olds arn’t all married and, it gets old staying home. It would be nice to have a place to go for us old single folks. Haha Jackaction…nawww I think most of us at that age are not interested in grinding anonymously and then doing the one eye drive home. But …some of us single people do enjoy dancing..and dancing around ones living room, just isn’t the same🙂

              3. Dale says:

                Ever hear of Starbucks?

            3. desert eagle .50 says:

JAQ, you provoke name calling and you get it. You cannot change the laws of physics or, in your case, the laws of dooshdom.

Why do you think your stinking family members’ activities would be of any interest to anyone?

              Please be specific.

        2. john doe says:

People hanging out in bars on a Sunday night late need another hobby. RC planes maybe?

    3. Brett says:

Is there some LAW against it??

      1. john doe says:

Ya!, it is called being really dumb.

  4. Sam says:

Who goes clubbing on a Sunday night / Monday morning? -_-

  5. another rally please says:

I wonder if a “Minnesota Community” will hold a rally over this? One rally a day in perpetuity.

  6. Kazperz says:

wow same reason they shut down Karma, i see the disease just moved down the street

  7. not sure says:

Yet one more reason to NOT to visit downtown Mpls. What is with Mpls city counsel? They WILL approve licensing for any dump that caters to thugs and drug dealers anywhere downtown in minutes….but to actually try to get a Vikings deal done or a mass transit system up and running or approval for a road improvement project takes over a year to get done *think of the tram 35w project brought to them in 2008 and taking over one year to approve.

  8. Brett says:

I have a great idea. Tommorrow night, we all show up at the stupd ‘epic’ nightthug,
and those of you who are LEGALLY packing, don’t drink any alcohol. Then watch the thuggery and other nonsense that is going on, and check out who is hanging out on the corner, cellphone in hand. Don’t say “nothin”, just be lookouts, then watch the gunfire that stirs up around bar-closin time, because the bruthas gotta protect their turf….

  9. toomanyracistsinmn says:

A lot of concerts/shows are on off-nights because Minneapolis is not a large enough venue to draw the acts on a more popular night. If you want to catch the show, you have to go on less preferable night sometimes.

Regardless, there are a lot of work schedules out there like others have stated. You can be gainfully employed and still go to a club on a night of your choosing without necessarily being irresponsible.

    1. Uncle Rico says:

You certainly can go all you want at whatever time & day of the week you want but; just remember that there are days when your opportunity to make a bad decision worse escalates dramatically when you decide to attend on “nothing to lose” night aka sunday night up in da club.

  10. Gregory says:

Prison yard culture is tolerated by nervous whites ’cause they’re nervous whites. I like bullying nervous whites. It’s a riot.

    1. I'm Just saying says:

I can not wait until you try to bully a conceal and carry nervous white looking Mexican American.

  11. Ignorance says:

If you are leaving negative comments without solutions, consider yourself an ignorant bully. Making negative, racist judgments online anonymously is cowardly. Why spend you time this way?

  12. Leave race out of it says:

Oh my. I reported you once, guess I will have to do it again.

  13. Julie says:

This is why I don’t go to big clubs anymore.
A few bad apples ruins the batch.
Can’t drink more than 3/4 of a drink and remain a legal driver, people get stupid anyways and start fights … blech.

Stay home, drink at home and remain safe and not in jail for doing stupid stuff, or stay home and not have some stupid numbnut hurt you.
