ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) – A woman was killed overnight after she was struck by a train in St. Cloud.

The incident happened just before midnight on Sunday near East St. Germain Street.

Authorities responded to reports of a woman being struck and found the 37-year-old victim, alive and breathing.

The woman was taken by ambulance to the St. Cloud Hospital, but she died of her injuries shortly thereafter.

Police say it appears to have been an accident.

The victim’s identity was not released.

    So it was the train’s fault for hitting the victim. Shouldn’t it say the victim stepped or stopped in the path of the train? How is this an accident? Wasn’t it preventable?
