MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Rep. Michele Bachmann has competition for her district.

The DFL endorsed businessman Jim Graves Saturday as the candidate to run against Bachmann in the 6th Congressional District.

Graves is a self-made multimillionaire who runs the international hospitality company behind the Graves 601 Hotel in downtown Minneapolis. He announced his candidacy earlier this week.

As expected, Republicans endorsed Bachmann’s re-election bid Saturday morning. New redistricting lines mean Bachmann now lives outside the district.

Graves, who grew up in St. Cloud and lives in Minneapolis, said he plans to move back to the 6th District.
