EAST BETHEL, Minn. (WCCO) – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a 25-year-old driver in East Bethel, Minn. Tuesday evening.

The bicyclist, a 42-year-old man, was struck at the intersection of Viking Boulevard Northeast and Breezy Point Drive Northeast.

The bicyclist was apparently trying to cross Viking Boulevard — also known as Anoka County Road 22 — when he was struck by a car.

He was airlifted to the emergency room at Regions Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver was described as cooperative by authorities. No arrests were made and the investigation continues.
