MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities say two apartments suffered heavy damage in a fire overnight at a complex in Newport, Minn.

Fire crews were called to the Mark Court Apartments at about 6:40 a.m. Saturday. When authorities arrived, they found that two apartments had suffered severe damage in the blaze. Nobody was injured in the fire.

Newport is a small city in the east Twin Cities metro just north of Inver Grove Heights and Cottage Grove.

Authorities don’t yet know what caused the fire and say it is still under investigation at this time.
