Run, Ice Cream Social Help Families Of Fallen Troops

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Military families celebrated the memory of their loved ones Sunday by hitting the pavement for a commemorative run.

The event raised money for children and families of fallen military members.

Along with the run, there was also an ice cream social, called Scoops for Troops.

WCCO-TV meteorologist Lauren Casey got behind the ice cream and helped out.

The joint fundraiser was started in 2008 in memory of Amy Cpl. Conor G. Masterson, of Woodbury, and Marine Lance Cpl. Daniel Olsen, of Eagan.
