MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 13-year-old cyclist suffered injuries Thursday in Bloomington after his bicycle collided with a car, authorities said.

Deputy Chief Rick Hart, of Bloomington police, said the collision happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. near the intersection of East 90th Street and Portland Avenue. The cyclist was traveling south on Portland Avenue, the car was traveling west on 90th Street.

A 30-year-old woman was driving the car. She stopped after the collision.

Hart said both the teenager and the woman suffered non-life threatening injuries. The teen was taken (via paramedics) to the Hennepin County Medical Center. The woman was taken to Abbott Northwestern Hospital.

Neither alcohol nor drugs are suspected to be factors in the case.

The incident is under investigation.
