MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota State Patrol is investigating a fatal crash in the north Twin Cities metro Tuesday afternoon.

The accident happened at about 12:43 p.m. near Interstate 694 and Lexington Avenue in Arden Hills. Authorities said the accident involves two vehicles and two people, one of which has died. Their name has yet to be released.

The crash had caused significant traffic back-ups in the area.

The State Patrol will provide more detailed information as it becomes available.
