MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Authorities are on the scene of an apparent fire at a school in Siren, Wis. that started late Tuesday morning.

The Burnett County Sheriff’s Office received 911 calls just before 11 a.m. about a fire at the school on the 24000 block of 4th Avenue in Siren. Authorities said the school has been evacuated as a precautionary measure and volunteer crews from Siren, Webster and Grantsburg have responded to the scene.

Authorities said it appears the fire started in the school’s small gymnasium.

Susan Roy lives right next to the school.

“The students are all out safe,” said Roy.
