NORTH BRANCH (WCCO) – A 28-year-old Rush City man is in jail accused of fleeing cops on a stolen ATV.

According to North Branch Police, at 2:21 p.m. on Monday, a police officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a person driving an ATV – without proper registration – in a careless manner. This was located near Harder Avenue and 412th Street.

The driver refused to stop and led the officer on a pursuit for about two miles before stopping the ATV in an agricultural field and fleeing on foot into a wooded area. After search, the man was found unconscious in the woods. He was treated on scene by emergency responders and taken by helicopter to North Memorial Medical Center.

The man, who police identify as Roger Nahl, has been released from the hospital and is currently in custody at the Chisago County Jail on numerous charges.
