SARTELL, Minn. (WCCO) — Officials say small fires continue to burn inside the Verso Paper Mill — and are expected to for some time.
An update from Sartell City Administrator Patti Gartland said flare ups are expected to continue until the demolition is fully completed. She emphasized that this is not a threat to public safety.
On Sunday, engineers began taking apart equipment and supplies from the explosion site.
The State Fire Marshall is still not sure what sparked the blast on Monday.
One person died in the accident, and five others were badly hurt.
In all, 75 fire departments responded with 14 other emergency agencies.
