COLUMBIA HEIGHTS, Minn. (WCCO) – A Columbia Heights man was sentenced to 163 months in prison for attempted murder.
Antonio Robinson, 39, pleaded guilty to attempted murder in the second-degree from a knife attack on his girlfriend on February 19, 2012.
Robinson stabbed his girlfriend several times with a large knife, causing her serious injuries.
The attack took place in their Columbia Heights home while children were present. Robinson was already on probation from a previous domestic violence offense.
According to Anoka County Attorney Tony Palumbo, Robinson’s situation reflects to spiraling nature of domestic violence.
“This case illustrates the problem of escalating domestic violence and how it affects so many lives,” said Palumbo.
