LAKE CITY, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities in Lake City are looking for a suspect after an apparent bank robbery Monday afternoon in the small southeastern Minnesota town.

Lake City Police officers responded to a report of a bank alarm at the Alliance Bank on the 100 block of East Lyon Avenue at about 4:15 p.m. When officers arrived, they learned a man had presented a note to a bank teller demanding cash. The note stated that the man had a gun.

The suspect got an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the scene. Authorities say the suspect is a taller white man in his early to late 20s with dark hair. He was wearing a white shirt with a blue shirt underneath it and tan shorts.

The Lake City Police Department, the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office and the FBI are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Lake City Police.
