MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – As the temperatures continue to warm up, a number of viewers have asked WCCO’s Holly Wagner to find out what the “in” flowers are this season.
Holly Wagner talked to the garden experts at Bachman’s to get the scoop.
Susie Bachman, of Bachman’s Floral, said the trendiest color of the season is orange.
Bachman pointed out that papaya petunias are a popular example of orange flowers, though they may appear more “coral” to some.
There has been a lot of work done with petunias lately, Bachman noted.
“Petunias are a little old fashioned, but they’re making a huge comeback,” she said.
Flowers aren’t the only thing to focus on in the springtime. There are also grasses you should consider, including a brand called Bunny Blue. It grows in the shade and turns a nice golden bronze color in the autumn.
Bachman also suggested evergreen trees to anchor your spring garden.
