2012 Minn. State Fair Poster Unveiled

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Our Great Minnesota Get Together is still two and half months away. But on Wednesday, they unveiled the 2012 Official Commemorative Art you'll see on posters.

Artist Joe Heffron from St. Paul created this colorful expression of State Fair icons like pronto pops and Fairchild, the gopher mascot.

You can buy the prints online. Officials say Heffron's work was chosen from among 50 after a call for entries just before the 2011 State Fair.

This year's fair starts on Aug. 23 and runs through Labor Day.
