CHICAGO (WCCO) – Congresswoman Michele Bachmann is accusing the president of lying about recent intelligence leaks from the White House.

She joins several Republicans who accuse the Obama administration of leaking information about drone strikes and the War on Terrorism to raise the president’s national security standing before the upcoming election.

At a Conservative Political Action Committee gathering in Chicago, Bachmann says she didn’t believe a word of what he said.

“Of course the White House leaked it and of course they did it to make Obama look like he was tough on terror,” said Bachmann.

President Obama says claims that his White House staff deliberately leaked classified information for political gain are wrong and offensive.

The president said he has zero tolerance for staff leaks of classified information, and said any leaks to the press will be investigated.
