MAIDEN ROCK, Wis. (AP) — Authorities have recovered the body of a Wisconsin man missing since he fell from a boat into Lake Pepin.

The Pierce County sheriff’s office says the body of 38-year-old Troy Goehrs of Bay City was recovered Friday afternoon from the shoreline of Lake Pepin near Maiden Rock.

Goehrs was in a boat with his wife, Brenda Goehrs, on the lake east of Bay City last Saturday. The woman told deputies her husband fell overboard and she jumped in after him. She said she swam to shore to get help after her husband went under water.

Lake Pepin is a wide spot in the Mississippi River on the Wisconsin-Minnesota border.
