MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 78-year-old man from Louisville, Ky., was arrested Monday after trying to rob a bank in Minneapolis while an off-duty officer happened to be inside, according to the FBI.
The incident happened at about 6:15 p.m. Monday at the Wells Fargo bank on the 2600 block of East Franklin Avenue in Minneapolis. Roger Lovell Doughten entered the bank with the intention of robbing it, but was arrested by an off-duty Minneapolis Police officer who was a working security guard at the bank.
Doughten was remanded to the custody of the Hennepin County Detention Facility after the arrest. Criminal charges are still pending in the case.
