MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A Brooklyn Park woman was charged Tuesday in federal court for one count of mail fraud after embezzling more than $1 million from Land O’ Lakes.
Cynthia Carol Jacobsen, 58, a former payroll agent for Land O’ Lakes, allegedly swindled $1.1 million from 2008 to 2012 by fraudulently entering her daughter’s name into the company’s payment system as a vendor, and then authorizing payments to her daughter.
According to the complaint, Jacobsen worked as an accounts payable supervisor and concealed her actions — sending the illegal payments to her residence — by misrepresenting the company’s financial condition.
