MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A vigil will be held Saturday for a 5-year-old boy who was shot and killed while asleep on the couch Tuesday morning.

Nizzel George was at his grandmother’s home in north Minneapolis when someone fired a reported 10 shots into the living room.

Nizzel was two months away from his sixth birthday and about to enter first grade.

People continue to leave flowers, balloons and stuffed animals outside of the home where he died, which is located near the intersection of 45th and Bryant avenues.

Saturday’s vigil will be at 3 pm at 4500 Bryant Avenue North.
