WINONA, Minn. (WCCO) – Police in Winona said a dead body was found lying in a grassy area along Highway 61 Tuesday morning.

Police said officers responded to a call at about 8:15 a.m. The body was found near the highway’s intersection with Highway 43.

Officers didn’t say what they believed caused the death of the adult male. Autopsy results from the Winona County Medical Examiner are pending.

Police said it didn’t appear that foul play was involved.
