Cops Search For Hutchinson Bank Robber Who Fled Into Cornfield

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Police are searching for a Hutchinson bank robbery suspect who eluded police in a pursuit before fleeing into in a nearby corn field.

Authorities responded to a robbery report at 3:03 p.m. on Tuesday at Citizens Bank on Highway 15 South in Hutchinson. A while male, approximately 6-feet-2-inches tall, with short hair and gray and black shirt and shorts, demanded an undisclosed amount of money.

Witnesses observed the suspect get into a red vehicle with a female driver before a McLeod County Deputy located the suspect vehicle and attempted a traffic stop.

The vehicle didn’t stop and a pursuit ensued. Stop sticks were deployed and the suspect automotive came to a stop and the female driver was taken into custody. But the robbery suspect fled into a nearby cornfield.

The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for the male suspect.
