WANAMINGO, Minn. (WCCO) – One person was killed and a child was critically injured after a head-on collision involving a semi truck in Goodhue County Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened on Highway 60 west of Wanamingo, Minn. at about 4:45 p.m.
According to the State Patrol, a Mercury Mountaineer vehicle was traveling east on the highway when it veered into the opposing lane, crashing with a semi truck.
The driver of the car — 36-year-old Michael Buck — was killed in the crash.
There were two children also in the vehicle. An 11-year-old was critically injured, and an 8-year-old received minor injuries.
The 78-year-old semi truck driver’s condition was not listed by the State Patrol report.
It was not clear what caused the vehicle to veer into the other lane.
