ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) – A St. Cloud family woke up to an unwelcome guest on Friday as a burglar was attempting to steal electronics from the home while they were sleeping, according to police.

St. Cloud Police were called to the 300 block of 7th Avenue South at about 4:58 a.m. on a report of a burglary in progress. The people in the home told police they woke up to a burglar inside the home.

When authorities arrived, they were told a suspect was in the process of taking electronics out of the home. He was described as a black man with dreadlocks, about 6 feet tall with a medium build and wearing a red baseball cap, red and white striped polo shirt and a large gold watch.

Police said the man got into a white 4-door car with three other black men that left the area. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call St. Cloud Police at (320) 251-1200 or Crimestoppers at (320) 255-1301.
