MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The second annual Midtown Global Music Festival takes place Saturday. The event features music from all around the world.
Spokesperson Akhmiri Sekhr-Ra says there will be a variety of music.

“We have jazz, we have the steel tropic drums, we have Ole Olson, so we even have Scandinavian folk music, so we have a variety of things happening,” said Sekhr-Ra. “There’s Africa, there’s China, there’s Mexico. You name it; it’s here at the Midtown Global Market.”
There is a lot to learn as well about other cultures.
“It’s an opportunity to have just a little taste of it,” she said.
The event is free and runs until 8pm Saturday night at the Midtown Global Market on Lake Street.
