BROOKLYN PARK, Minn. (WCCO) – One person was hospitalized early Monday morning after a shooting in Brooklyn Park, according to police.
Brooklyn Park Police responded to the 6200 block of Edgemont Boulevard at 6:30 a.m. Monday on a report of a shooting. When authorities arrived, the victim was transported to North Memorial Hospital.
Police did not say where the victim was shot.
At about 1:30 p.m., police said they had apprehended a suspect. Police said they believe the suspect and the victim are roommates, and the incident was not a random act.
The suspect is currently under arrest and being held at the Brooklyn Park Police Department on suspicion of attempted murder.
Brooklyn Park Police and the Hennepin County Crime Lab are investigating the incident. Anyone with information is asked to call Brooklyn Park Police.
