LINO LAKES, Minn. (WCCO) – A 20-year-old man has been charged with making fake profiles on social networking sites using nude photos of his ex-girlfriend.
According to the criminal complaint, Christian Richard Montgomery, of Lino Lakes, is charged with counts of stalking, defamation and identity theft.
The complaint says that Montgomery’s ex contacted police claiming he had created fake profiles on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
She said he put the profiles in her name and uploaded nude photos of her to attach to the profiles.
She told police that after she said she wanted to break up with him, he told her he was going to create fake profiles.
When confronted by police, he said he created the accounts one night after getting drunk. He said he did it because she disrespected him by breaking up with him.
The fake Facebook account had 11 friends, and the fake Twitter account had more than 50 followers.
