BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. (AP) — Eden Prairie, Blake and Dawson-Boyd are winners of the Minnesota State High School League’s Challenge Cup Awards.
Minnesota high schools compete in the yearlong contest by earning points for placing in postseason tournaments and state fine arts competitions.
Eden Prairie won the large school Challenge Cup for the sixth time in nine years — the only school, large or small, to reach that milestone. The Eagles had 766 points in 25 activities — including championships in football, boys’ soccer and girls’ volleyball.
Blake won its fourth Challenge Cup. The Bears earned the AA trophy with 521 points by winning the girls’ lacrosse, girls’ tennis and girls’ soccer tournaments.
Dawson-Boyd was a first-time winner in the small-school division. The Blackjacks finished with 138 points, including winning the Class A Prep Bowl.
