MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A man is dead after police found him at the intersection of 22nd Street East and Portland Avenue South, following a shooting.
The man, said to be in his 30s, was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center where he passed away just before 9:30 p.m.
Police say they were dispatched to the area around 8:45 p.m. on a call of shots fired in the 2200 block of 5th Avenue South.
As officers were en route, the call was updated to a shooting after the victim was located.
Police began an investigation and believe the shooting began in the common hallway of an apartment building in the 2200 block of 5th Avenue South.
Homicide investigators are actively working on the case. No one is in custody.
