LONG LAKE, Minn. (WCCO) – Family and friends gathered at Trinity Lutheran Church in Long Lake on Saturday to honor 38-year-old Officer Barry Pankonin, a 12-year veteran on the Fridley Police Department.

Pankonin was killed Tuesday when his motorcycle crashed near his home in Plymouth.

He was off-duty at the time of the crash. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
