6,000 College Kids Shop Privately At Target

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- University of Minnesota freshmen had a bonding experience last night at Target.

Target gave 6,000 students a private shopping experience after its Roseville store had closed. The students were bussed over so they could buy last minute college supplies.

Target made it fun with contests, a DJ, and gift bags.

"First night of welcome week, so it's kind of fun to get to see everyone. It's kind of crazy, a lot of people," said Justin Siewert of Lake City.

"I think it's pretty exciting in here right now. They've got a D.J. and there are a lot of people in here," said Rachael Rostad of Wanamingo.

Target said this is the closest event they have to Black Friday.
