DEERWOOD TOWNSHIP, Minn. (WCCO) – Officers reported finding a dead body Thursday afternoon in Deerwood Township after a citizen reported a suspicious vehicle.

Police responded to a wooded area near County Road 31 at about 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

They found the vehicle and also the body of an adult male, identified as 43-year-old Garry Allen Wanless Jr.

Authorities said there is no reason to believe there is any danger to the public. The cause of the man’s death was not immediately released.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office is conducting an autopsy.
