Woman Says Man Fractured Her Jaw At Bus Stop

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis Police are investigating a woman's claim that she was assaulted at a bus stop Sunday evening.

The woman told police she was near Lowry Avenue North and Penn Avenue North when a man in his 20s asked to use her cell phone.

She told police that, when she refused, he started swearing at her. When she turned to walk away, he punched her on the side of her jaw, according to the police report.

She said she started bleeding and went to the hospital, where they informed her she would need surgery as her jaw had been fractured.

Police say she gave them a description of the suspect, but they say they have not been able to find video evidence of the assault based on surveillance of the area.
