MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A new memorial to fallen firefighters is at the Capitol Tuesday after making a solemn journey.
Eleven metro-area fire departments escorted the sculpture from Howard Lake to St. Paul. They carried the statue that used to be in the baggage-claim area of the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport.
The statue was re-cast in Howard Lake, and it will be formally dedicated at the Capitol Sunday.
