THIEF RIVER FALLS, Minn. (WCCO) – One person was killed and another critically injured in a head-on collision in Marshall County Tuesday evening.
The crash happened on Highway 59 at 270th Street Northwest, just north of Thief River Falls, Minn. at about 8:20 p.m.
The State Patrol says a Buick LeSabre was driving north on Highway 59 when it crossed the center lane and ran into a Chevrolet GMT-400 pickup truck.
Forty-year-old Jodi Larson, of Thief River Falls, was killed in the crash. She was a passenger in the pickup truck. The driver received non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the LeSabre — 22-year-old Alanna Tureson — was critically injured in the crash. Her passenger was treated and released.
The crash happened in the vicinity of wildfires in northwest Minnesota Tuesday, but authorities did not say whether that may have been a factor in the crash.
