MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Mickey Anderson lives right across the street from the home where a man was shot and killed by police.
“Never heard anything bad about Jeff,” Anderson said.
Richfield police were called to a home on 67th and Park about 9 a.m. They told reporters that when they got there, the man was holding a knife, and an officer shot and killed him.
“The Richfield Police want residents to know there is no public safety concern at this time in the neighborhood,” said Maj. Kip Carver of the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office.
Anderson said it’s hard to believe and that he feels bad for her friend and neighbor.
“She is engulfed in grief,” Anderson said. “This was her nephew.”
Anderson said the woman was very caring and loving, and was glad to have the nephew there.
Police are not releasing many details, and call it an ‘active’ investigation.
