ST. PAUL (WCCO) – The Ramsey County Attorney’s Office announced they are not pursuing criminal charges over the July stabbing death of a 25-year-old St. Paul man.
Police released a 28-year-old man they arrested in connection with the stabbing death of Desmond Deshawn Harper after a judge did not find probable cause. The attorney’s office did not ask for an extension.
Harper was stabbed after three people got involved in an argument on a Metro Transit bus route 16.
Harper was found unresponsive near the intersection of North Rice Street and Aurora Avenue West at about 1 a.m. early July 11.
On Tuesday, the county attorney’s office said based on the evidence that was presented, they can’t disprove beyond a reasonable doubt the claims of the man they arrested that he acted in self defense.
