MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A Fire Marshall is investigating after a fire destroyed a Verndale, Minn. church.
According to the pastor of Verndale Family Life Church, he got a call about the fire Tuesday night around 10 p.m. Pastor Amos said he immediately went to the church and found firefighters already there.
The fire was pretty strong, he said, and another fire department was called in to help.
The fire was eventually put out but most of the building was damaged. Windows were blown out and the church is basically a total loss, he said.
The Fire Marshall said they believe it was an electrical issue but they continue to investigate.
Pastor Amos said the community has been instrumental in helping them pick up the pieces — they are currently using office space at Alliance Church and will be hosting their Sunday services from the local school’s auditorium.
