BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Sam Rendle scored his first goal of the season in the closing minutes to lift Bemidji State to a 5-4 win over Alaska-Anchorage in men’s hockey Saturday.
Rendle scored on a 3-on-2 break with 2:29 left to play to keep Bemidji State (3-5-2, 1-2-3) from playing its fourth straight overtime game.
Scott Allen’s second goal of the game with 4:20 left had tied it for UAA (2-4-4, 0-3-3). Allen also had an assist.
Aaron McLeod had two goals and Danny Mattson three assists for the Beavers.
Mathieu Dugas had 23 saves for Bemidji State and Rob Gunderson had 18 stops for the Seawolves.
The teams tied 2-2 on Friday.
