ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) – One is dead after an early Saturday morning house fire in St. Cloud, authorities say.

According to Greg Newinski, St. Cloud Fire Department Battalion Chief, firefighters were called to the 500 block of Eighth Avenue South just before 3:25 a.m. on Saturday.

One person was killed, while another was injured and has since been released from a St. Cloud hospital.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, and next of kin hasn’t been contacted yet so the identity of the deceased has yet to be released.
