DULUTH, Minn. (AP) — Nic Dowd had a goal in each of the first two periods to lead St. Cloud State to a 5-1 win over Minnesota-Duluth in men’s hockey Saturday.
The win by the Huskies (7-5-0, 5-3-0) avenged Friday’s 2-1 loss to the Bulldogs (3-7-2, 1-5-2).
St. Cloud State scored twice in each of the first two periods and turned things over to goalie Ryan Faragher, who made 32 saves. He had 15 saves in the second period.
Dowd had one of the Huskies’ three power-play goals. Ben Hanowski and Kalle Kossila had the others. Hanowski assisted on two goals and Dowd added an assist.
Mike Seidel had a power-play goal for the Bulldogs and Cory Thorson had a short-handed goal.
Aaron Crandall had 17 stops for UMD.
