MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It was an eventful holiday weekend on Minnesota’s roads with crashes, vehicles going of the roads and drinking and driving, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Erik Roeske with the State Patrol said over the Thanksgiving weekend from Wednesday night to Sunday night, there were more than 500 crashes and 103 DWI arrests.
Roeske said there were a total of 525 crashes, with 73 being injury accidents that were not serious. There were, however, two fatal crashes and 317 vehicles that went off the road.
Parts of Minnesota got a couple of inches of snow on the afternoon of Thanksgiving, making the commute for holiday travelers messy and somewhat dangerous in the metro and northern Minnesota.
