ANOKA, Minn. (WCCO) — More details have been released in an Anoka shooting that left a man in critical condition.

On Nov. 24 at 3:15 p.m., Anoka Police were dispatched to the 700 block of Southview Drive on a reported shooting. Upon arrival, police discovered the victim, who had suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso and face — seven total, authorities said.

The victim, identified as 27-year-old Darrel Donte Reed of Anoka, was rushed to Mercy Hospital where he was stabilized and later taken to the Hennepin County Medical Center. He remains in critical condition.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Department says the suspect shooter had immediately left the scene, but was seen by many people who reported that he had a firearm near the shooting. The suspect’s vehicle description and license plate number was sent out to law enforcement. Two hours later, the suspect’s vehicle was spotted by Minneapolis Police on the 3500 block of 4th Street North.

The suspect, 24-year-old Adrian Dominique Bell of East Bethel, was taken into custody. A handgun believed to have been in his possession was recovered nearby.

The appropriate charges are being considered by the Anoka Attorney’s Office and the case remains under investigation.
