Police: St. Paul Crash May Have Been Street Race

ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) -- Police say that they are investigating whether or not a street race led to a crash in St. Paul Friday afternoon.

The crash happened at Minnehaha Avenue near Kennard Street. One of the vehicles involved flipped.

Police say that one person suffered life-threatening injuries in the crash after being ejected from the vehicle, and was taken to Regions Hospital in critical condition.

Police said they arrested the drivers of the two vehicles involved -- 22-year-old Tony Path and 18-year-old Tou Yer Xiong. The two have since been released, pending further investigation.

No criminal charges have been filed, but police are investigating the incident as potential criminal vehicular operation.
