MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Ricky Rubio has been cleared to be back at Timberwolves’ practice in full-contact fashion.

With the final medical hurdle cleared after a consultation with Dr. Richard Steadman in Vail, Colo., the Spanish star will be assessed by the Wolves medical staff before he can participate in an NBA game.

Rubio had surgery back in March to reconstruct a torn ACL and a torn LCL in his left knee.

Rubio, acquired by Minnesota with the fifth overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, appeared in 41 games (31 starts) for the Wolves during his rookie season, averaging 10.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 8.2 assists and 2.22 steals.
