GOP’s Franson Keeps Slim Lead In House Recount

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Republican Rep. Mary Franson is keeping a slim lead over her Democratic challenger in a recount of their western Minnesota state House race.

Franson’s 11-vote lead was unchanged after Wednesday’s recount of Douglas County votes. Both Franson and Bob Cunniff picked up one vote.

Thursday’s recount is taking place in Otter Tail County, where Auditor Wayne Stein said he expected it to finish by day’s end.

Democrats took control of the House by a sizeable majority in the election, meaning control is not at stake in the Franson-Cunniff recount.
