MANKATO, Minn. (WCCO) — Doug Hood is a Mankato businessman, and a friend of Todd Hoffner.
“We are elated,” Hood said.
Hoffner was charged in August with possessing child pornography, after videos of his children were found on his school issued phone.
But on Friday, a Blue Earth County judge dismissed the case against University of Minnesota State, Mankato football coach Todd Hoffner.
In the video, his children were naked and dancing, and prosecutors claimed were taking part in “suggestive sexual acts.”
But after reviewing the case, the judge said there was no probable cause, and not enough evidence to continue to case.
Hood called the decision “long overdue.”
“He’s a tough person,” Hood said. “It’s going to take a toll on him, but he’ll hop back on, and who knows what will happen.”
School officials said Hoffner remains on paid administrative leave, as their internal investigation continues.
