Man Gets 120 Days For Forcing Girl, 12, To Run In Diaper

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 35-year-old Fridley man was sentenced Tuesday to 120 days in jail for forcing his girlfriend's 12-year-old daughter to run outside in a diaper is a punishment.

Darnell Alan Landrum had been charged with malicious punishment of a child in connection with the May 7 incident. Landrum and 38-year-old Stephanie Ann Broten had been accused of forcing Broten's daughter to run outside wearing a diaper and tank top after shaving her head. They were upset with her after she got a poor grade in school.

Broten has already been sentence to 90 days in the Anoka County Jail. Landrum was sentenced to 120 days in the Anoka County Jail and it also took into account his guilty plea to misdemeanor domestic assault, which stemmed from an Oct. 5, 2010 incident where hit Broten's daughter with a belt.

He will also be placed on two years of probation and is also ordered to not have any contact with the child.
