MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – One in five Minnesotans experiences mental illness directly, and now there’s a facility that will provide state of the art care in the Twin Cities.
HealthPartners is opening a new $36 million mental health center at Regions Hospital in St. Paul. It replaces a facility that was originally built in 1964 as a nurses dorm. Moreover, it’s double the size of the former center.
“This is a big day,” said Mary Brainerd, the president of HealthPartners. “I’m so happy to see this day come. I’ve been waiting a very long time.”
The new center features 100 beds in private rooms.
